Governor Daidam
Yobe Government has approved N325 million for payment of benefits to 316 retired Local Government staff and next of kin of deceased staff.
Malam Abdullahi Bego, Director-General, Press Affairs to Gov. Ibrahim Daidam, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Damaturu.
“This follows their verification by the committee set up by government for the settlement of liabilities of all local government retirees.
“Of the 316 retirees, 62 are deceased and their entitlements will be paid to their next-of-kin,” Bego said.
According to him, over N551 million was released for payment of 556 retired government staff earlier this year. (NAN)
