A journalist and activist, Mr. Fegalo Nsuke, has emerged as the new President of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP). He defeated his challenger, Lazarus Tamana during the MOSOP national elections conducted at the MOSOP Secretariat Bori, Ogoniland, yesterday, Wednesday, December 19, 2018.

A native of Bori, Mr. Nsuke is the Publisher of Ogoni News online newspaper. He is the immediate past National Publicity Secretary of MOSOP and narrowly escaped assassination in the run-up to the election.

Nsuke succeeds Legborsi Saro Pyagbara, who led the former MOSOP EXCO that recently finished its tenure.

A statement issued this morning by the MOSOP 2018 Electoral Committee and signed by the Chairman, Chief Emmanuel Nkala, said that Mr. Oluji Bartholomew Okolah emerged Deputy President; Deacon Monday Neeka Ziinu, General Secretary; Mr. Alex Aori, Assistant Secretary; Mr. Barinordum Ke-eeh, Financial Secretary; and Barr. Benjamin Nnana Okandu Jiji, Legal Adviser.
