A drama played out as President Muhammadu Buhari appeared before the joint session of the National Assembly (NASS) today, Wednesday, December 19, 2018, to present the 2019 budget.

There was commotion among the lawmakers who created a scene shouting “freedom come, by struggle by struggle, freedom come” while other pro Buhari lawmakers were seen chanting “sai Baba, sai Baba”.

President Buhari while presenting the budget, said it would be his last to the 8th NASS.

He said the economy has recovered from recession and “we have done more work in Agricultural, infrastructural, social development including the payment of salaries and arrears.

Some lawmakers greeted Buhari's submission with shouts of “lie, lie, lie, no, no, no”.

Loud ovation had heralded Buhari’s arrival at the joint session with shouts of “Sai Baba’’ as he waved to the crowd.

The President was accompanied to National Assembly by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
