Modular refinery
Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCON), the Umbrella body of all communities in Nigeria where oil and gas deposit are found, Anambra State Chapter, has said that the first Modular Refinery will in no distant time kick off in Anambra state, just as they pledged that they will put a permanent stop to the age-long hostilities between Anambra and Kogi State over contention of oil wells.
Disclosing this to newsmen during the inauguration of the state chapter of the body in Awka, by the National President of the Association Bishop Professor Mike Emuh told newsmen that already all necessary feasibility studies have been carried out for the project which is expected to gulp not less than N30billion to commence at Anaku in Ayamelum L.G.A, noting that the project when operational will give jobs to thousands of citizens, especially youths.
On the age-long Kogi and Anambra boundary hostilities over oil wells, he said that the Organisation has a blueprint that will bring a permanent solution to the problem, adding that their silent efforts on the matter in the past have helped to avert a lot of killings, quarrels.
Earlier, while speaking before inaugurating the State Chapter of the Association, Bishop Prof. Emuh, who was accompanied to the State by Prince Dr Sam Igbinika, the National Secretary, Mrs Perpetual Ogene, Engineer Anthony Chiokwe, Mr Anene Onyilegbe and Hon. Joseph Obidigwe, the Chairman.
, Deputy Chairman, lamented the non-representation of Anambra State in NNDC, and other oil-related boards in the country, regretting that the State is losing a whopping sum of N30 million daily as a result of the development.
