IGP Ibrahim Idris
The Nigeria Police has one of the most secured communication systems in the country.
This was contained in a press release on Friday by the National Coordinator, United Young Professionals, Adewole Kehinde, while reacting to several tweets coming from one Victor Asemota via @asemota insinuating that the Nigeria Police uses “Yahoo Mail” as a form of communication.
“We wish to correct the wrong impression of Victor Asemota that Nigeria Police uses only Gmail dealing with the public and not for internal communication. Police internal communication methods are Wireless, Signals and Radio which are secured and full proof, Adewole said.
He further said that the Nigeria Police Crime & Incident Database Center located at the Force Headquarters is 90 per cent completed. This will surely further boost the Nigeria Police sophisticated call center and advanced data capturing mechanisms.
“We are bold to say that Nigeria Police Personnel Welfare has been the utmost agenda of IGP Ibrahim Idris as many Barracks have been rehabilitated and several housing estates have been built with Muhammadu Buhari Housing Estate, Mbora, Abuja, as the latest.
“It may interest Victor Asemota that the Muhammadu Buhari Housing Estate, Mbora, Abuja is not the end of IGP Ibrahim Idris Housing Scheme as he has begun the construction of Post Retirement Housing Units for Police Officers across the country,” Adewole said.
“On the funding of Nigeria Police, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris is currently behind the passage of the Police Trust Fund Bill at the National Assembly which is aimed at addressing the financial issues of the Nigeria Police. The bill has passed second reading,” the statement concluded.
