Boardroom guru, Joseph Oyeyani Makoju has been appointed substantive Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Africa’s largest cement company, Dangote Cement Plc.

The appointment was announcedon Mondayvia a statement signed by the Company Secretary, Mahmud Kazaure.

Makoju had served as Acting Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Cement since January 2018. He doubles as Special Adviser to the President/CEO at Dangote Industries Limited, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.

Makoju joined the Group as Chief Operating Officer Dangote Cement in May 2008. His experience in the Cement and Energy Industry spans 37 years. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Dangote Cement Plc since December 2, 2010. He served as Director at Lafarge Cement WAPCO Plc.
