Alliance of Registered Freight Forwarders In Nigeria (ARFFIN) has rejected a supposed reshuffle of the Board of Trustees of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) calling on all concerned to disregard it.
A statement issuedon Tuesdayby the Association, and signed by the Convener, Shehu Danladi Yakubu said “We have just received news of a supposed reshuffle of the Board of Trustees of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA)
“Ordinarily, we are not supposed to be involved with any internal operations of any freight forwarding association. However, we became concerned in view of our confirmation that the Board meeting in which the supposed reshuffle decision was taken was not legitimately convened, a situation that made the meeting and by extension, its decision illegal.
“In view, also of the fact that the reason given for the supposed reshuffle was based on ethnic sentiment, with its capacity to destabilise the current peace in the freight forwarding subsector and in view of the fact that ANLCA is the foremost freight forwarding association in Nigeria, we cannot fold our hands and watch an imminent destabilisation of the subsector.
“In the light of the above, we reject the supposed reshuffle and urge all concerned to also reject it also. Finally, we are hereby using this medium to also advise the perpetrators of the illegal reshuffle to retrace their steps and embrace due processes in the interest of peace in the freight forwarding subsector,” the statement noted.
