It was sad day for elder statesman and Ijaw national leader, Chief Edwin Clark, yesterday. Was busy at the national Conference in Abuja, where he is a delegate, unidentified gunmen struck at his Kiagbodo community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, seizing and taking away his son Ebikeme Clark.
A report this morning in Daily Sun quoted an unnamed top police source in Delta as confirming the kidnap. “Ebikeme’s abductors emerged from the water in the evening and whisked away their victim to an unknown destination,” the source was quoted as saying.
The source assured that men of Delta State Police Command have stepped up efforts to trace the suspected kidnappers and locate where they are holding their victim.
The abduction of Ebikeme, who contested the last elections to represent Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, is said to be already generating tension in Kiagbodo.
