The University of Ibadan’s Centre for Sustainable Development (CESDEV) in conjunction with the International Climate Change International Programme (ICCIP), Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and Manchester Metropolitan University (UK), is set to host the 2nd Symposium on Climate Change Adaptation in Africa.

A statement made available to News Express Correspondent by Eniola Adeyemi, a member of the media team, said that the theme is ‘Enhancing Africa’s capacity to cope with climate change’. It is a two days event scheduled to hold May 14 -15, 2018 at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

Dr. Olawale Olayide, a Research Fellow and Sub-Dean at the University of Ibadan Centre for Sustainable Development, who doubles as the Co-Chairman of the Symposium, reiterated the need to addressing the impact of climate change with the aim of finding sustainable solutions for promoting adaptation and resilience building across Africa.

The symposium will bring together over 300 delegates from cross-sectoral areas within the African society and the international community. The symposium also coincides with the 70th year anniversary celebrations of the University of Ibadan, the statement added.
