A middle-aged man identified as Onyenwe Offor Ajah has hacked his 38-year-old son Kenneth Ajah to death.

The suspect father hails from Ameke-Enu Oduma in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Enugu by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ebere Amaraizu, said that the unfortunate incident took place on March 28, 2018 at about 4:30pm.

According to the statement, trouble ensued at Orie Oduma market between the father and his son, during which the man allegedly resorted to the use of an object to hit Kenneth on his head. Details of the cause of their quarrel are not yet available.

It was gathered that Kenneth became unconscious and was later confirmed dead. His body has been deposited at Awgu District General Hospital mortuary while a manhunt for the fleeing suspect (the father) has commenced.
