NIM 3rd Force arrowhead, Prof Pat Utomi
One of the arrowheads of the Nigerian Intervention Movement (NIM) otherwise known as the 3rd Force, Professor Pat Utomi, has said that the target of the movement is to mobilise 20 million Nigerian voters for the 2019 general elections as a means of changing the political landscape in the country.
As a prelude towards achieving this target, Utomi, on behalf of NIM’s summit organising committee, is inviting all Nigerian compatriots and stakeholders to attend the national summit of key national movements and eminent leaders of thought in the country to the launch of the much talked about Grand Political Coalition, which he says is to shape the future of Nigeria’s democracy.
Utomi spoke via a press statement made available to News Express, in which he also vehemently denied ever mobilising support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term as earlier reported by a section of the media.
The theme of the summit scheduled to hold at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, on Wednesday, March 21, is “Building a new equitable and prosperous democratic Nigeria in 2019 and beyond”.
Speaking exclusively in a chat with News Express on behalf of NIM, the head of administration and operations of the movement, Hadjia Khairat Animashaun Ajiboye, said NIM is strategising towards mobilising not less than 20 million Nigerian voters for the 2019 polls.
“We are not joking. The status quo must change in Nigeria’s political landscape. It cannot be business as usual for the ruling class. The wishes of the people must prevail, not the self-centered interests of the tiny minority in power. That is what NIM stands for, and the first step to achieve this is the forthcoming Grand Political Coalition in Abuja,” said Ajiboye.
