The Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has tasked Corps members in the state to be role models to children and youths in the state.

Okowa, who was represented by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Engr. Jude Sinebe, made the call during the closing ceremony of Delta and Edo states combined orientation course of 2017 Batch B stream 11 held at Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.

He assured that the governments of Delta and Edo states will continue to reward excellent service among Corps members and encourage any service that is capable of improving the life of our people.

He assured that the state governments would also encourage them to make good use of the skills acquisition training they have received.

“Besides, we will consciously make the security of corps members a priority and endeavour to provide a peaceful atmosphere for these youths to fully integrate into various communities in Delta and Edo to contribute their quota and make meaningful development,” Okowa said.

Also speaking, the State Coordinator of National Youths Service Corps, Mr. Omotade Benjamin, stated that Corps members posted to their places of primary assignment should be diligent and wholehearted in discharging their duties. He equally charged them on skills acquisition training, adding that it will expose them into different skills that would help them to make a living later in life.
