President Goodluck Jonathan this afternoon effected a minor cabinet shuffle, ordering Darius Ishaku, the Minister of State for Power, to swap position with Zainab Ibrahim Kuchi, the Minister of State for Niger Delta.
This was announced in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, by Dr. Reuben Abati, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Jonathan. Abati said that the changes take effect from next week.
Jonathan (showed in photo) is said to be considering naming former Minister of the Niger Delta, Godswill Orubebe as the new Power Minister.
News Express reports that Nigeria has been without a substantive Minister of Power following Prof. Nnaji’s sudden departure on August 28 after it became known that his firm was involved in the privatisation process as a bidder for one of the power stations slated for sale.
