Dust haze
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for Saturday, December 9, 2017:
NORTHERN STATES: Dust haze is expected to prevail over this region with visibility range of 2-5km and isolated cases of less than 1,000m are expected in some places like Nguru, Katsina, Sokoto, Yelwa and Maiduguri throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 31 – 35℃and 13 – 19℃respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: Dust haze would prevail over this region with horizontal visibility range of 2 – 5km. However, isolated visibility range of less than 1,000m is expected over some cities like Kaduna, Minna, Gombe, Yola and Bauchi axis throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 31 – 38℃and 11 – 23℃respectively, except over Jos where 28℃/11℃day and night temperatures are expected.
SOUTHERN STATES: The southern cities are expected to be in partly cloudy to cloudy conditions in the morning hours. Later in the day, there are prospect of isolated thunderstorms over the coastal cities such as Lagos, Warri, Calabar, Port Harcourt including the high ground areas like Akure and Enugu. Temperature values are expected to be in the range of 33 – 37℃and 20 – 25℃respectively.
