Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State has promised to announce who would succeed him as the next governor come 2015 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by August this year.
The governor disclosed this yesterday in Dutse while delivering his address shortly after the swearing-in of the newly elected local government council chairmen in the state.
“The next governor would be better than me in terms of developmental projects in the state,” he promised.
According to him, “The next governor of this state would be known by August and we would make sure he would be the popular choice of all and accepted by the majority who should be more than me in terms of developmental performance in the state.”
Lamido noted that, “we made a 35 year developmental plan which would make the state a reference point in all developmental matters in the country.”
Twenty five local government council chairmen and their deputies were sworn-in at the occasion.
