Rivers APC chieftain, Prince Tonye Princewill
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Prince Tonye Princewill, has advised Nigerian youths and in particular the youths of Rivers State extraction to stay clear from all manners of crime as it will bring them regret in their life.
Prince Princewill who gave the advice in a statement in Port Harcourt, Rivers state today was reacting to the recent joint security personnel operation between Nigerian security forces and a local vigilante group in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Council of Rivers State wherein human skulls, 1 General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), 18 AK-47 Rifle Magazines, pairs of military camouflage, camouflage T-Shirts, Fabrique Nationale (FN) Rifle magazines, 39 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition, 20 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 1 round of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition amongst other items were recovered at Mr. Igwedibia Johnson’s (a.k.a Don Waney) home.
He noted that militancy, kidnapping, oil bunkering, murder or wanton beheading of any person for whatever reason is an ill-wind that blows nobody any good.
“Militancy, kidnapping, oil bunkering, murder or wanton beheading of any person for whatever reason is an ill-wind that blows nobody any good. These crimes have grave consequences, not only on the perpetrators, but also on the state and nation’s economy and is capable of driving away potential investors who would have loved to invest in the state, thereby demarketing the state and nation’s economy,” said Princewill.
He stressed that engagement in crime often times lead to a disastrous ending of the perpetrators accompanied by regret, sorrow and sadness and advised the youths who would rather take crime as a means of livelihood to turn a new leaf.
“Crime eventually breeds regret, sorrow and sadness especially when individuals or groups involved in it are caught by security personnel. It is therefore wise for such persons to turn over a new leaf and engage any genuine and legal endeavour for their sustenance,” Princewill further counselled.
He commended the security agents and people of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni for their efforts in the successful operation and urged them not to rest on their oars until crime and criminality is drastically reduced.
“Any true lover of Rivers state should ask if their actions are causing peace or pain. What goes around comes around. You reap what you sow. It’s biblical. Let over ambitious politicians not lead you by the nose. Their children do not carry guns. Why should you?” he said.
