In recognition of his philanthropic acts and humanness, former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has been honoured with Benefactor’s Award by the management of the University College Hospital, (UCH) Ibadan as part of activities marking the 60th Anniversary of the premier tertiary hospital in Nigeria.

Presenting the award, the Chief Medical Director of the institution, Professor Temitope Alonge, expressed the appreciation of the institution to Otunba Daniel and his company, Kresta Laurel Limited, for the provision of three elevators for the hospital.

He also praised Otunba Daniel’s consistent support for indigent patients at the hospital as he urged other high net worth individuals and corporate institutions to emulate the former Governor’s example.

In his response, Otunba Daniel, who was represented by the Managing Director, Kresta Laurel Limited, Engr. Dideolu Falobi, thanked the institution’s management for acknowledging his little contribution to the growth and development of the great institution which he has always regarded as one of the best ways to give back to the community especially in the area of heath care delivery.

He also saluted the vision of the founding fathers of the great institution which has remained modern and contemporary 60 years after its existence.

He then charged the current management and staff of the institution to treat it as a public trust which must be protected at all cost.

Also honoured for their support at the event were Aare Afe Babalola and individuals with rare blood group who have continuously donated to the blood bank as well as some groups including the Drug Free Club.
