Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has sacked five commissioners, just as he swore-in six new ones.
Those sacked were Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Muhammad Falali, Ahmed Rabi’u of commerce, Hajiya Zubaida Damakka Abubakar of Planning and Budget, Engineer Shehu Haruna Lambu of works and Professor Kabiru Isa Dandago of finance ministry.
The newly appointed commissioners are Barrister Ibrahim Mukhtar (Justice), Engineer Aminu Aliyu (Works, Housing and Transport), Alhaji Aminu Mukhtar Dan Amu (finance), Alhaji Ahmed Rabi’u (Commerce), Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso (Special Duties) and Hajiya Aishatu Jafar Yusuf (Planning and Budget).
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the new commissioners, the state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Unar Ganduje said the selection of the newly appointed commissioners was based on their individual capability, integrity and acceptability in their respective constituencies.
Ganduje said Kano state government found it necessary to inject new blood in its executive council being the highest policy making body for continuity in formulating good policies that would impact on the lives of people.
He, however, cautioned them to desist from any form of corruption, adding that government would not condone corrupt practice on the part of civil servants. (Daily Trust)
