About 190 newly recruited constables of the Nigeria Police Force have been deployed to Plateau State.
Addressing the constables at the Police Inspectors’ Mess on Monday, the Commissioner of Police, Undie Jeremiah Adie, said the number of personnel deployed to the state has increase to 2,560.
He said the orientation workshop was organised to refresh their knowledge on the Force orientation, and to prepare them to give their best.
CP Adie cautioned that “the positive aspect of discharging you to various duty posts is to be ambassadors of the Force because Police is a legitimate organisation where serious minded people are recruited.
He warned against insubordination and advice them to always take orders from their superiors. “So we want you to conduct yourselves properly so that you don’t see yourself out of office prematurely.”
Adie stressed that the newly posted officers should see themselves as servants to their host community not to turn around and begin to intimidate and harass people.
According to him, the orientation was meant to intimate them on the existing challenges in the state.
He believed that the three days orientation will be enough to add value to their wealth of experience in the system.
The CP also tasked them to tap local knowledge that would essentially boost their mind on practical beginning on community policing so as to impact positively.
