Jonathan a bad product —Sylva •President’s kinsman apologises to north, promises to ensure he’s voted out

Former Bayelsa State Governor Timipre Sylva has described his kinsman, President Goodluck Jonathan, as a bad product and apologised for his role in getting him elected President in 2011.

He was speaking yesterday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Grand Rally in Yola, Adamawa State, to receive former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday.

Sylva said the Niger Delta people were not happy with the performance of their son Jonathan and are willing to cooperate in trying to vote him out of office.

His words: “I was here with other governors in 2011 to pray for the North to vote for our son. I am here again on behalf of the people of the South-South to apologise to you for bringing in bad product.

“I am here to apologise to the people of Adamawa because our son whom you voted for has not performed and the country is fast sinking under his misrule.

“Niger Delta has sent me to tell you that we are ready to join hands with you to chase out this regime of impunity promoted by our son. We will join hands with you to salvage our great country.”

The rally was attended by a broad spectrum of APC heavyweights from across Nigeria, among them the party chairman Bisi Akande, party leader Bola Tinubu, host Governor Murtala Nyako and former Borno State Governor Modu Sheriff.
