Breaking News: APC shuts down Yola as Atiku publicly declares

Yola, capital of Adamawa State in Nigeria’s North-East is in a frenzy as the All Progressives Congress (APC) formally receives former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who yesterday defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Socially media-compliant Atiku broke the news of his defection yesterday evening via social media and APC has organised a Grand Rally in Yola to unveil him as the party’s latest big catch.

The Grand Rally, presently in progress, is being attended by APC leaders from across the country, including state governors and APC National Leader Bola Tinubu.

Giving the reason for dumping PDP, Atiku had tweeted yesterday: “We need leadership focused on our people, on creating jobs & providing security. That’s why I am joining the APC.”
