The Silicon Valley has concluded plans to hosts Nigerian entrepreneurs in a business programme in the United States of America. The meeting is in collaboration with the Nigeri­an Embassy in Washington.

According to a statement, the programme which is a weeklong immersion programme in the Silicon Valley with Nigerian executives, is designed to create business opportunities for Silicon Valley technology companies to bring their businesses into Nigeria.

The event will bring over 30 top Nigerian executives to participate in the immersion program on the 24th – 30th of September 2017.

This brain behind the programme, Chief Amina Temitope Ajayi a.k.a. Mama Diaspora, a US-based Nigerian business consultant, said the initiative was developed to create economic growth that would take Nigeria from being a developing country to an emerging market.

Their programmes, she said, are designed to reduce dependency on oil explorations and increase profitability in the technology sector and increase the feasibility of employing recent college graduates.

“The Silicon Valley-Nigeria Economic Development Inc.’s SV-NED vision for Nigeria ahead is to facilitate programs that would improve Nigeria’s credibility with foreign investor partners globally starting with Silicon Valley business hubs”.

Dr. Ola Hassan, a Board Member of SV-NED Inc, who was one the pioneers of Silicon Valley was quoted as saying; “This will be a great eye opener and open doors for the Nigerian Young Entrepreneurs in Information Technology, Agriculture and Banking.” (The AUTORITY)
