Thunderstorm
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Thursday 13, 2017:
NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy morning is anticipated over the region with prospects of localised thunderstorms over Sokoto, Kebbi, Yelwa, Gusau and Kano. Later in the day, localised thunderstorms are expected over Maiduguri, Sokoto, Kano, Katsina, Dutse, Potiskum and Gusau in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 29 – 32℃ and 19 – 23℃ respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: Cloudiness with prospects of localised thunderstorms are expected over Abuja, Lafia, Mambilla, Jos and Jalingo in the morning hours. However, there are chances of isolated thunderstorms over Minna, Abuja, Makurdi, Bida and Yola in afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 28 – 30oC and 17 – 23℃ respectively except Jos at 24/16℃.
SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected to prevail with prospects of localised rains over places such as Port Harcourt, Calabar, Eket, Obudu and Ikom in the morning hours. As the day progresses, localised rains/thunderstorms are not unlikely over Lagos, Ijebu Ode, Calabar, Eket, Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Akure, Ibadan, Osogbo, Enugu, Awka, Asaba and Umuahia in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 28 – 31℃ and 20 – 23℃ respectively.
