The Enugu State Police Command on Sunday revealed that it has commenced investigation into the abduction of a 60-year-old woman, Mrs. Esther Ogbu.
A press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Ebere Amaraizu stated that the alleged incident is linked with an Enugu-based Pastor, identified as one Solomon Ozioko.
It was gathered that the suspect, who is said to be a self-acclaimed Pastor from Ovoko in Igbo Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State, but residing at Umuopu, Enugu Ezike Igbo North Local Government Area of the state, had on June 25 allegedly abducted the victim over a yet-to-be-established reason and took her into a forest and tired her on a tree.
It was further gathered that the victim was inside the forest for 12 days before Police operatives, acting on intelligence information, struck and rescued the victim and later rushed her to a General Hospital at Ogurute where she is currently receiving medical attention.
