FCT Minister Muhammad Bello has placed the burden of compliance to this year’s polio immunisation in the capital territory on traditional and religious leaders.

Bello,who on Tuesdayin Abuja, spoke against the backdrop of pockets of refusal by some people to submit their wards for immunisation, said there was a reinvigorated effort by Nigeria to return to its former status of a polio free nation.

Whilereiterating the dangers of lack of immunisation on children to include permanent paralysis and deformity, he appealed that all children from age five and below be made available for immunisation and other child survival interventions.

He disclosed that the FCT Administration has put everything in place to ensure a successful implementation of the campaign.
