BNYL National Leader, Comrade Prince Obuka
The Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL) has distanced itself from the recent coalition announced by several pro-Biafra groups and rejected the appointment of Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), as the Supreme Leader of the Biafra agitation.
BNYL said in a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by the National Leader, Comrade Prince Obuka: “We the committed people in Biafra Nations Youth League with headquarters in Bakassi, are pleased to state as follows:
“That we were not consulted or part of the BPNC forum that reached a decision at Afara ukwu on 28th June where Nnamdi Kanu was endorsed as Supreme Leader of Biafra, we were given just a day notice which is not enough for our body to be part of the event.
“However, this is an act of neglect and we view it with serious concern that Biafra as a multi-ethnic nation recognises the principle of democracy as we will not allow decisions to be imposed on us by any group of people or a particular section.
“In consequences therefore,
“We the BNYL hereby withdraw our membership from Biafra Peoples National Council, BPNC.”
