A businessman, Abdullahi Jibril, has filed a direct criminal complaint in the Upper Area Court Mararaba, Nasarawa State, against his former fiancee Mariam Ibrahim and friend Haruna Likita, for alleged cheating.
The defendants, who reside in Mararaba, were charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating, breach of trust and threat to life.
Jibril, who resides at Rugan Juli, Mararaba, filed the direct complaint on Oct. 27.
He told the Court that in 2025, the first defendant (ex-fiancee) tricked him into going to the second defendant’s house for the marital rites.
“My friend went behind me and married my fiancee and they both moved into the house I rented for us.
“They are currently leaving in the house and are using the items I bought.
“The second defendant is now threatening me for taking the matter to court,” he said.
However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Judge, Malam Mohammed Shomo, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N200,000 each with one Surety in like sum.
Shomo adjourned the matter until Nov.10 for hearing. (NAN)
