The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Friday 30, 2017:
NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy morning is expected across this region in the morning hours. There are prospects of localised thunderstorms in places like Yelwa, Sokoto, Katsina, Gusau, Maiduguri and Yola in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 31 – 37℃and 21 – 24℃respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: In the morning hours, this region is expected to be in cloudy conditions with chances of localised thunderstorms over places such as Abuja, Bida, Minna, Jalingo, Mambilla Plateau and Makurdi. As the day progresses localised thunderstorms is anticipated in places such as Abuja, Lafia, Lokoja, Kaduna, Jos and Ilorin in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 29 – 33℃and 18 – 22℃.
SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy morning is expected over the inland states of this region with prospects of thunderstorms over Obudu and Ogoja. While rain showers are anticipated along the coastal part of this region, such as Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Calabar and Eket. In the afternoon/evening hours, localised thunderstorms are expected in the inland areas such as Osogbo, Akure, Ado Ekiti, Obudu, Awka, Onitsha, Benin, Enugu and Abakaliki. Coastal cities such as Lagos, Ijebu Ode, Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Eket and Calabar are also expected to have localised thunderstorms later in the day. Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 30 – 32℃and 22 – 23℃respectively.
