Senator representing Kebbi South Senatorial Zone, Bala Ibn Na’Allah has distributed 300 tricycles and 650 motorcycles as part of his youth empowerment programme to seven local governments comprising Zuru, Danko/Wasagu, Sakaba, Fakai, Yauri, Ngaski and Shanga in Kebbi State.
Na’Allah who is also the Deputy Senate Leader, while presenting the materials to the beneficiarieson Saturdayin Zuru, said six tractors, 300 tube wells and irrigation pumps, 105 Power Tiller machines are also provided to farmers association to boost Agriculture in the zone.
“A modern fish market, which is the fifth of its kind in West Africa, capable of processing 10 tonnes of fish per day has been built in Yauri LGA to serve the three LGAs in the riverine area of Yauri emirate.
“This is in addition to renovation, fencing and expansion of Komo Unity Town Hall in Zuru, as well as the provision of 536 Grinding machine and 870 sewing machines to women in the zone,” he said.
The Senator added that 63 motorized solar boreholes were also provided to improve water supply in the zone.
In the area of improved healthcare services in the zone, Na’Allah said he had commenced construction of new hospitals in Unashi and Garin Baka in Danko/Wasagu and Ngaski LGAs respectively as well as four ambulances to health facilities across the zone.
“This is in addition to two Ambulance boats to save lives and ease hardship of transporting patient in villages within Yauri emirate riverine areas.
“All these projects are aimed at complementing Federal Government and Kebbi State Government’s effort in improving healthcare services, Agriculture and providing empowerment opportunities to our teaming youths,” he added.
Kadiri Doro, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, while commending the Senator, appealed to the Federal Government to assist in the renovation of dilapidated Kontagora/Yauri/Zuru road and improved electricity supply in the zone.
“We have witnessed what you have sewn and what you have ripped for your people. We are most grateful and hope to have more of such people friendly development and good representation in the National Assembly,” he said.
