The Ekiti Future Agenda and Socio-Economic Development Organization (EFA) has inaugurated its restructured Central Working Team and inducted officers of four newly established operational directorates as part of efforts to strengthen its institutional capacity, deepen development advocacy and promote evidence-based policy engagement for the sustainable development of Ekiti State.
The inauguration and induction ceremony took place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, in Ado-Ekiti, during a special inaugural meeting of the organisation's newly restructured Central Working Team.
The exercise marks a significant milestone in EFA's institutional development and reflects its renewed commitment to building a more structured, proactive and results-oriented organisation dedicated to advancing the collective interests of Ekiti people.
The newly inaugurated Central Working Team is headed by Dr. Sikiru Olowoyo as Chairman, with Dr. Babatunde Ajayi as Secretary. The team is responsible for providing strategic direction, coordinating the activities of the directorates and ensuring effective implementation of the organisation's programmes and objectives.
Four operational directorates were also inaugurated, with their respective heads and secretaries formally inducted into office after subscribing to the oath of office.
The directorates and their leadership are as follows:
Directorate of Policy and Research: Dr. Damilola Owoeye, Chairman, and Mr. Bayo Abiodun, Secretary.
Directorate of Communication: Mrs. Ijeoma Adeniyi, Chairperson, and Mr. Olumide Nathaniel, Secretary.
Directorate of Projects and Impact: Rt. Hon. Toba Fatunla, Chairman, and Mr. Pelumi Abiara, Secretary.
Directorate of Grassroots Mobilisation: Mr. Funso Balogun, Chairman, and Ms. Olumide Esther, Secretary.
The directorates have been established to promote specialisation, improve operational efficiency and ensure that EFA's ideas and advocacy initiatives translate into practical programmes and measurable development outcomes.
Speaking at the meeting, the BOT Chairman and Convener of EFA, Adesina Adetola, emphasised the importance of collective responsibility, strategic coordination and sustained commitment to the organisation's mission. He noted that the success of the restructuring would depend on the ability of the Central Working Team and the directorates to work collaboratively, develop actionable plans and deliver tangible results.
He reiterated that EFA was established to mobilise people, ideas, resources and opportunities towards building a prosperous, inclusive and self-sustaining Ekiti State.
The Convener further stressed that the organisation would maintain its identity as an independent, nonpartisan development advocacy and accountability platform, committed to constructive engagement with government and other stakeholders. He explained that EFA's responsibility includes offering informed policy alternatives, identifying development gaps and promoting accountability in the overall interest of the people, irrespective of the administration in power.
A major highlight of the meeting was the decision to adopt the Ekiti State 30-Year Development Plan as an important reference framework for the organisation's policy research, development advocacy and assessment of government programmes and priorities.
The meeting also identified education, grassroots participation, institutional accountability and sustainable development as priority areas for intervention. In particular, the Directorate of Policy and Research is expected to initiate an evidence-based assessment of the condition and management of missionary schools in Ekiti State, with a view to developing a position paper for constructive engagement with relevant authorities.
The Directorate of Grassroots Mobilisation will work towards strengthening community engagement and ensuring that citizens' experiences, aspirations and concerns inform the organisation's policy recommendations. The Communication Directorate will support effective public engagement and information dissemination, while the Directorate of Projects and Impact will focus on translating the organisation's priorities into practical initiatives and assessing their outcomes.
The meeting also underscored the importance of broadening EFA's institutional support base through strategic partnerships and engagement with development-minded individuals, professional groups, civil society organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Central Working Team, Dr. Sikiru Olowoyo, congratulated the newly inducted officers and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute meaningfully to the organisation's renewed direction.
The meeting commended the Convener for his consistency and sustained efforts in keeping the organisation active over the years, while reaffirming the need to build a strong institution founded on shared ownership, collective service and continuity beyond individual personalities.
Following the inauguration, the directorates are expected to develop work plans, identify priority programmes and pursue initiatives aligned with EFA's mission and the long-term development aspirations of Ekiti State.
With the restructuring and induction of its new officers, the Ekiti Future Agenda and Socio-Economic Development Organization founded in 2010 is poised to strengthen its role as a platform for development ideas, policy engagement, citizen participation and constructive accountability.
The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to working with relevant stakeholders towards a brighter, more prosperous and sustainable future for Ekiti State.
