Gallant troops of the Forward Operating Base
Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected terrorist during a fighting patrol in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was conducted at about 11:00 a.m. on October 18 by troops of 342 Battalion operating from Forward Operating Base (FOB) Okigwe.
The troops reportedly conducted patrols through Limka, Nkoto Eke, Ama Anon and Ampka Umulolo villages as part of ongoing security operations in the area.
During the operation, the troops apprehended a suspected terrorist who was allegedly attempting to flee at Limka village.
Items recovered from the suspect included a motorcycle, a torchlight, an MP3 player and clothing.
The suspect was subsequently handed over to the 34 Military Intelligence Regiment (MIR) for further investigation and necessary action.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by security forces to identify and apprehend suspected criminal elements and sustain security across communities in Okigwe LGA. (Zagazola)
