Late ex-Gov Uduaghan
Orode, daughter of former Delta State Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, has paid an emotional tribute to her late father, saying her love for him would endure forever.
Orode, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Warri North I Constituency, expressed her grief in a brief emotional post on her official Facebook page following the former governor’s death on Monday.
“Thank you for everything. I love you yesterday, today and forever. Sleep well Papa,” she wrote, adding a love emoji.
Her message came amid an outpouring of tributes from Delta’s political heavyweights, including Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, former colleagues, associates and residents of Delta State following Uduaghan’s death.
The family had earlier announced that the former governor died in the early hours of Monday, October 19, 2026. He died after a prolonged ailment.

Born on October 22, 1954, Uduaghan was 71 and died three days before his 72nd birthday.
He served as Commissioner for Health from 1999 to 2003 and Secretary to the State Government from 2003 to 2007 before becoming governor in May 2007. He governed Delta State for two terms, leaving office in 2015.
Since the announcement of his death, tributes have highlighted his contributions to governance, infrastructure development, healthcare and peace-building, as well as his relationships with political associates and members of the public. (The Nation)
