Eno also commended the school’s alumni association for organising the event to celebrate and recognise the veteran educationist and reaffirmed his commitment to education development ” Following the declaration of a state of emergency in the education sector, my administration is determined to raise educational standards and provide functional accommodation for teachers in secondary schools”
According to him, the proposed facilities would be similar to those provided in the model primary schools established by his administration across the state’s 31 local government areas.
He encouraged the people of Akwa Ibom State to learn, speak and preserve their indigenous as important part of the state’s cultural heritage.
Eno emphasised the need to sustain languages for future generations and ensure that the state’s cultural identity remains protected.
Responding , Moore expressed delight at receiving his former student and described him as a former student who had risen to become the father of the state.
The veteran teacher said the governor’s visit and recognition had put a golden smile on his face and expressed his appreciation in French language “Merci beaucoup,” meaning “Thank you very much.”
