Celebrities, gospel musicians, and entertainers have continued to mourn the death of gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as ToluwaniSings, who died in the early hours of Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
The singer’s family announced his passing on Wednesday night in a statement posted on his official pages, describing him as a dearly loved husband, family member, and gospel minister with the Toluwani Gospel Music Ministry (TOGOMM).
Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
Since the news broke, colleagues and fans have poured in tributes, many expressing shock and praying for his wife, children, and family.
Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola wrote on X: “ToluwaniSings…. May your soul rest in peace; this is a very hard pill to swallow.”
Gospel singer Adeyinka Alaseyori wrote on Instagram, “Even in our pain, Lord, we judge you faithful. It is well.”
Gospel singer Bidemi Olaoba, who hosted the In His Presence concert where ToluwaniSings last ministered on Tuesday night, wrote: “Lord, we judge you faithful, even in moments like this when words fail us, and our hearts are heavy. Even when we do not understand, we choose to trust You. Even through the tears, we hold on to Your unfailing love. Lord, we still judge You faithfully.”
Comedian and content creator Woli Agba, real name Ayo Ajewole, said a unique voice had left the stage too soon.
“A very unique voice has dropped the microphone and walked off the stage just like that,” he wrote. “ToluwaniSings, your departure has left a painful void in the hearts of many. It is difficult to understand, and even more difficult to accept.”
Gospel singer Paul Tomisin recalled his humility: “My team and I still spoke about how you were worshipping on Sunday and supporting everyone, even when you were not ministering at the event, and that’s just how your heart has always been! The heart of pure love and service to JESUS! We judge God faithful and good! Rest in peace, Egbon Toluwani.”
Gospel singer Dare Justified wrote, “Such a rude shock… This one hits differently. It still feels so unreal. Even in our pain, we judge You faithfully, Lord. Rest well, God’s soldier. Until we meet again.”
Actress Jaiye Kuti shared a video of himself singing ToluwaniSings’ songs in tribute, while singer Pelumi Deborah recalled their last meeting.
“Three days ago, we laughed. Today, you’re a memory. An unfinished conversation, a goodbye we never said, and a heart struggling to understand how quickly ‘see you later’ can become ‘rest in peace,’ ” she wrote. “Life is fragile! Oh, so painfully fragile. Till we meet again, Egbon T.”
Actress and singer Bimpe Akintunde, popularly known as Wasila Coded, prayed for God to comfort his wife and children, saying she had hoped he would recover.
The 41-year-old gospel minister was known for his soulful worship ministry and had built a large nationwide following. (The Nation)
