Senate President, Bukola_Sarakijpg
A local starch manufacturer has gotten the attention of the 8th Senate and the President of the Senate Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has reassured him and other Nigerians of the support of the senate to make laws that will support made in Nigeria goods.
Saraki took to his twitter page to assure that any product that is made in Nigerian and is comparable to imported ones will be given legislative backing.
He was responding to a Nigerian manufacturer of starch who said that his product were better and cheaper than the imported ones.
Saraki urged the manufacturer who contacted him through his twitter handle @Bukolasaraki that the senate would look into his product and make enabling laws.
The manufacturer @RDCleaners twitted at the President of the Senate telling him about his product.
In his reply, Saraki urged him to upload a video of his product and the senate would consider it and give it the needed legislative backing.
He further urged all Nigerians to support made in Nigeria products.
Recall that the 8th Senate had been championing the patronage of made in Nigeria products with notable senators like Bukola Saraki, Eyinaya Abaribe and Ben Bruce at the fore front.
The 8th Assembly had championed many conferences, forum and dialogue to discuss ways to promote the made in Nigeria agenda.
Its stance was also backed when the Senate bought some made in Nigerian cars as part of its fleet for oversight functions.
Again, Dr Saraki had also taken to his Facebook page to canvass support for made in Nigeria goods. (NAN)
