NDYFGG President Ukueku
National President of the Niger Delta Youth For Good Governance (NDYFGG), Comr. Lucky O.O Ukueku, has called on the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, and the people of Ewu Urhobo Kingdom in Ughelli South LGA to reject the alleged imposition of Mr. Ricardo Oguma as the candidate for the newly revived Ughelli South Constituency II seat in the Delta State House of Assembly.
In a statement personally signed and issued to newsmen in Abuja, FCT, Comr. Ukueku, a former Vice Chairman of the PDP in Ughelli South LGA, urged the Governor to call Chief John Oguma to order and allow the people of Ewu Kingdom to produce the next member representing Ughelli South Constituency II.
He warned that failure to do so will result in the APC losing woefully in all Ewu communities in the 2027 general elections.
Comr. Ukueku stated that Chief Oguma has benefitted immensely from Ewu Kingdom, citing the multi-billion naira Orere Bridge contract awarded to him by the administration of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
He alleged that despite the huge contract, Chief Oguma did not engage any Ewu leader or youth, and instead single-handedly supplied all materials for the project to the exclusion of the host community.
According to him, “The people of Ewu will not accept this imposition, except those who have chosen to be slaves to Chief Oguma.”
The NDYFGG President further alleged that Chief Oguma worked against the second term ambition of Ewu son Hon. Paul Etega as Council Chairman of Ughelli South LGA, but supported his brother from Olomu, Hon. Dr. Richard Kofi, to complete two terms.
“Now that the government and INEC have granted Ughelli South LGA Constituency II, the same Chief Oguma has brought his son to dominate the rest of us who refuse to be subjected to his control. This is after all the appointments the present government has given to his community and his immediate family,” Comr. Ukueku said.
He called on all sons and daughters of Ewu Kingdom to reject Chief Oguma, his son, and their “selfish and greedy clique.”
He also alleged that there are rumors that Chief Oguma paid a certain amount of money to facilitate the revival of Ughelli South Constituency II in order to position his son.
Comr. Ukueku appealed to Governor Sheriff not to allow Mr. Ricardo Oguma to fly the APC ticket for the constituency. He warned that if this happens, “what the people of Ughelli South did to Okowa in 2023 when he contested as Vice Presidential candidate to Atiku and lost, and what made the current Governor not to win in Ughelli South LGA during the 2023 election, will repeat itself come 2027.”
