Some residents of Port Harcourt are defying the rain to stage a peaceful protest over alleged ‘one-chance’ attacks in the city.

Among the protesters are some victims who were said to have survived alleged attacks involving criminals operating in commercial vehicles.

Others have joined the march in solidarity with the victims and to demand urgent action to prevent further occurrences.

With placards expressing their displeasure over what they describe as a worrying new trend of criminal activities in the state capital, the protesters are calling on the authorities to strengthen security on the roads and protect commuters.

The protesters are marching from Boro Camp Junction to the Rivers State Government House and the Rivers State Police Command Headquarters, where they intend to press their demands for safer roads, better security and an end to ‘one-chance’ operations in the city. (Chanels)
