A US-based clothing company, HercLeon, has unveiled theHercShirt V5.0, a T-shirt that does not require washing even if a person wears it daily for 30 days, the country’s media reported.
HercLeon, the company that brought self-cleaning underwear a few years ago, recently went viral for launching the fifth iteration of its HercShirt, a breakthrough design that can remain smell-free for about a month, even obe does not wash it.
The HercShirt V5.0 was designed to stay fresh for over a month without washing. It sounds preposterous, especially in the summer, when most people sweat a lot more under the scorching sun, but HercLeon claims that this ingenuity they came up with is real.
To keep the newest HercShirt odorless for such a long period of time, the company used seven special ingredients – copper, silver, zinc, gold, volcanic ash, and two secret ingredients – all of which were woven into the fabric, rather than simply applied on the surface.
Copper, for example, inhibits odour-causing bacteria, while zinc neutralises harsh sulphur compounds produced by active sweating. Volcanic ash absorbs moisture and external odours, acting like a porous inner sponge.
According to HercLeon’s Kickstarter pitch, the HercShirt V5.0 stays fresh for over a month, even under heavy use. And because it only rarely requires washing, it lasts a lot longer than conventional T-shirts.
According to the company, when it becomes available for shipment in early November, the HercShirt V5.0 will only be available in black, but HercLeon has already announced plans to sell navy blue, burgundy and dark green versions later next year..
“If you feel $79 is just too much to spend on a T-shirt that does not need washing for so long, you can opt for the budget option ($39), which remains fresh for three days of heavy use, or the standard version, which doesn’t require washing for up to 14 days,” the company said. (TRIBUNE)
