A statement issued in Abeokuta on Thursday by Adejuwon Soyinka, Senior Special Assistant (Media) to the Governor said on the same day, Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, will also commission the Laderin Neighbourhood Market.
The statement reads: “The gated estate, which is the first of its kind built specifically for public servants, is located in Laderin, Abeokuta, the state’s capital.
“Built on a 4.2 hectare parcel of land, the 160-unit estate comprises two bedroom semi-detached bungalows, three bedroom semi-detached bungalows and two bedroom flats.
“A walk through the estate shows that the quality of infrastructure and services is extremely high – good quality road network with drainage, ample parking for residents and their guests, water supply system complete with water treatment and storage of more than 200,000 litres capacity, two 500kv transformers supplying electricity to all houses and streetlights.
“Each unit has been made ready to receive meters, which have been paid for. The estate, has been designed to ensure communal cohesion. To this end, there are a number of pocket parks and a large residents’ pavillion to foster social interaction.
“In order to ease access to basic needs, a retail strip is being built around the community centre. Good quality landscaping completes the development creating a nice ambience for residents and visitors.
“In the same vein, the governor would also commission the newly built shops at Laderin Neighbourhood Market on Monday. With a total of 116 shops, which includes 48 lock up shops and 68 open stalls, the Laderin Neighbourhood Market was built specifically to cater to the needs of residents of Laderin Estate, AAK Degun Estate and its environ for a proper and decent place to shop within their neighbourhood.
“Designed and constructed with modern facilities including water and security, the new market was conceived by Governor Amosun in line with the mission to rebuild programme specifically with regards to urban renewal.
“The retail centre will serve the needs of the community and also respond to the request of the traders who hitherto set up illegal kiosks along the verges and setbacks in Laderin.”
