Late Benedict Inaede, Edo State Obidient movements secretary
Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has mourned the death of a member of the Obidient Movement from Edo State, Benedict Inaede.
Obi, in a post on X on Friday, described Inaede’s death as a painful and irreplaceable loss to the Obidient family.
“I have just received the sad news of the death of one of our Obidient family members from Edo State, Comrade Benedict Inaede,” Obi wrote.
He extended condolences to Inaede’s family on behalf of himself and the entire Obidient Movement.
“On behalf of my family and the Obidient Movement family, I sincerely condole with his immediate family and the entire Obidient family. His death is a painful and irreplaceable loss to us all,” he said.
Obi prayed for the repose of Inaede’s soul and for strength for his family and the movement to bear the loss.
“May Almighty God, who has called him home, grant him eternal rest and grant his family and all of us the fortitude to bear this profound loss.
“May we continue to remember his family in prayers for God Almighty’s continued blessings,” he added.
Inaede had served as the Edo State Secretary of the Obidient Movement, where he was involved in the movement’s state-level activities, including public statements on behalf of its executive.
Details of the circumstances surrounding his death were not disclosed in Obi’s statement.
The Obidient Movement is a grassroots support base that rallied around Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign and has remained active in his political activities since then. (The PUNCH)
