The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has announced the birth of twin sons with his wife, Mariam Ogunwusi.
The monarch shared the news in a social media post on Friday, where he appreciated God for the safe delivery of the babies and the well-being of their mother.
“To God be all the glory and adoration for His wondrous works and abundant blessings once again!
“Warmest congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and to Olori Mariam Ajibola on the joyous arrival of twin princes to the royal throne of Oduduwa today.
“We give thanks to Almighty God as both mother and children are in good health,” the post read.
The latest birth adds to the growing royal household of the revered traditional ruler, who has welcomed several children in recent years.
In 2024, the Ooni and one of his wives, Olori Tobi Phillips, welcomed twins, Prince Obalabi and Princess Ademilokan.
Months later, the monarch also celebrated the birth of another son with his fourth wife, Olori Folashade.
Announcing the child’s arrival in September 2024, the monarch wrote, “To God be the glory, great things he has done.
“Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Folashade, who today birthed a Prince from the mother side of Ooni Adagba Royal Compound of Lafogido Ruling House and father side of Ooni Agbedegbede Royal Compound of Giesi Ruling house combined to the Royal throne of Oduduwa.
“Mother and child are doing well to the glory of God Almighty and in line with the spirits of our ancestors. #Otisese.”
The birth of the prince came about five months after the royal family had welcomed the twins born by Olori Tobiloba in March 2024.
In August of the same year, the twins were formally received at the palace in Ile-Ife, five months and two days after their birth was publicly announced.
The Ooni is also father to Prince Tadenikawo, born to his former wife, Naomi Silekunola, in 2020. He also has a daughter, Princess Adeola, from an earlier relationship.
Following the collapse of his marriage to Naomi in December 2021, the monarch married six wives in 2022. They include Mariam Anako, Opeoluwa Akinmuda, Tobi Phillips, Ashley Adegoke, Ronke Ademiluyi and Temitope Adesegun. (Life News)
