Peace Ibiyeomie, wife of Salvation Ministries presiding pastor David Ibiyeomie, has advised women against maintaining close relationships with divorced women who rejected reconciliation or remarriage.

Speaking during a Mother’s Day service on Sunday, she stated that some divorced women discouraged others from marriage while continuing private relationships with men.

She argued that if men were unimportant as claimed, such women would not engage in sexual relationships with them.

Peace called on women to encourage divorced relatives or friends to either reconcile with former spouses or remarry, rather than adopting bitterness toward men.

She said she had encountered cases of single women who privately maintained relationships with men despite publicly downplaying the role of men in their lives.

“Do not follow a divorcee as your friend, even if she is your sister. Teach her, either she reconciles with her husband or she remarries. She will tell you that men are not important but meanwhile she goes at the back.

“They keep saying the man is not important, if he is not important, why are you sleeping with him. So stay on your own if you say a man is not important.

“I have seen so many examples of single ladies, some of them told me the truth that it is a lie, that even as they are in church, they follow men. One opened up so much to me, that is why she wants to remarry.

“Therefore, the company you keep will either keep you up or pull you down. Leave a meaningful legacy that you will be remembered for,” she said. (The Nation)
