Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan
The senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has officially submitted her Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial nomination forms at the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development marked the formal commencement of her bid to return to the Senate, drawing party supporters, political associates and stakeholders to the PDP headquarters.
Speaking shortly after submitting the forms, Natasha said her decision to seek re-election was driven by the need to sustain purposeful representation and expand development opportunities across Kogi Central, insisting that the ambition went beyond personal interest.
“This journey is not about personal ambition alone, but about sustaining purposeful representation, empowering our youths and women, and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every community,” she stated.
The lawmaker expressed appreciation to the people of Kogi Central and members of the PDP for their continued support and confidence in her leadership.
She reaffirmed her commitment to improving infrastructure, education, healthcare delivery and economic opportunities for constituents, while pledging to continue championing policies aimed at improving the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.
“We have started a movement of hope, inclusion and progress. By the grace of God and the support of our people, we shall continue to build a future where every citizen feels represented and valued,” she added.
Natasha, widely known for her vocal advocacy and grassroots engagement, has remained one of the prominent voices in the National Assembly, particularly on issues relating to governance, accountability and social development.
Supporters at the event described her as a courageous and resilient leader, commending her accessibility and commitment to constituency development projects in Kogi State.
A PDP chieftain present at the event said the senator’s political journey had continued to inspire women and young people across the country to participate actively in leadership and governance.
According to him, “Senator Natasha has proven that leadership is about service, courage and sincerity. Her people-oriented projects and strong voice for justice have distinguished her among her contemporaries.” (Guardian)
