Ahead of the farming season, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Zamfara State, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, has assured the public that he will tackle the menace of insecurity, stating that farmers can now safely return to their fields.

The Commissioner provided this assurance during a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the Zamfara State Council on Thursday.

CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello urged journalists in Zamfara State to collaborate with the police in the fight against insecurity to help restore lasting peace in the region.

He also expressed that his administration is open to any constructive criticism that could enhance the existing security operations in the state.

He assured farmers of protection of their lives and properties, saying there would be no cause for alarm, adequate arrangements have been put in place for safe farming,” farmers can now go to their farms in this rainy season”.

The police Commissioner advised journalists to always verify reports on security issues, adding that his doors are always open for clarification on security issues in the state.

“Journalists are partners, my command would work with you for peace and development and more prosperous Zamfara State”, he stated. (Nigerian Tribune)
