US president Donald Trump
Iranian Minister of Youth and Sports, Alireza Rahimi, has called on young people across Iran to form “human chains” around power plants following threats from US President Donald Trump.
In a post on X, Rahimi invited youths, athletes and public figures to take part in what he described as a national campaign.
“I invite all youth, cultural and artistic figures, athletes, and champions to the national campaign “Iranian Youth’s Human Chain for a Bright Tomorrow,”” Rahimi wrote.
“Tomorrow, Tuesday at 14:00, beside power plants across the country, with every belief and taste, we will stand hand in hand to say: Attacking public infrastructure is a war crime.”
Rahimi’s appeal followed Trump’s warning that the United States could target Iran’s public infrastructure if Tehran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Tribune Online reports that President Donald Trump has warned that Iran could face devastating military action if it fails to meet a Tuesday night deadline set by Washington.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Trump said Iran risked being completely destroyed in a single night if it refused to agree to a ceasefire deal. He stressed that Tehran must comply with US demands or face intensified attacks targeting key infrastructure.
“The entire country can be taken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night,” Trump told a White House press conference. (TRIBUNE)
