Manchester United youngster Darlington Osuchukwu is currently on international duty.
On the same day Manchester United’s under-18s reached the FA Youth Cup semi-finals, another youngster had an impressive feat of his own.
Prospect Darlington Osuchukwu, 16, is yet to make his under-18s debut at club level, still with the younger age group.
In the meantime he is gaining valuable experience at international level with Spain.
Darlington Osuchukwu was born in Murcia, Spain, and while also eligible to play at international level for England, he has chosen to represent his birth country.
The young goalkeeper made his Spain under-17s debut in November 2025, playing in a 4-1 win over the Czech Republic.
In February he played for Spain in a tournament in the Algarve, keeping a clean sheet in a 7-0 win over Finland.
Yesterday (March 18) he featured in goal in a qualifying match for the under-17 European Championships against Scotland.
Osuchukwu kept a clean sheet in a 3-0 victory for his side.
The match also saw 16-year-old United midfielder Harlem McLaughlin come off the bench for Scotland at half-time.
Osuchukwu had previously been called up to England squads at under-16s level, although did not make a competitive appearance.
But late last year he was called up by Spain and accepted the switch. It is working out well for him, getting valuable game time under his belt.
The young goalkeeper was named on the bench for United’s under-18s at the start of the season, but has been with the 16s since. He is a player we could see more of in 2026/27. (Man United)
