The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State Chapter, has strongly commended the timely, bold, and decisive intervention of Francis Nwifuru, following the gruesome murder and beheading of four persons in Okporojo, Oso Edda, Edda Local Government Area.

The ruling party said the Governor’s swift actions ranging from the dethronement of traditional rulers, removal of political appointees, and dissolution of community leadership structures are a clear demonstration of the APC led government’s zero tolerance for insecurity, lawlessness, and killings.

The decisive step, according to the party, sends a strong signal that no individual, community, or institution is above the law.

In a statement issued on Monday by the state Publicity Secretary, Ogbuatu Chidi Simbad, APC firmly stated that no one has the right to take another person’s life, whether provoked or not, noting that human life is sacred and must be protected at all times.

Continue the barbaric acts witnessed in Oso Edda are unacceptable, condemnable, and totally against the values of our society and the principles of good governance upheld by the APC in Ebonyi State.

According to the statement, “Governor Nwifuru’s actions further underscore the resolve of his administration to place premium value on the safety of lives and properties.

“It also serves as a stern warning to any community or local government that refuses to embrace the state government’s reconciliatory efforts and peaceful advocacy.

“The APC, Ebonyi State Chapter, condemned in totality the gruesome murder and beheading of the four persons and fully supports the disciplinary measures taken against the Amasiri Autonomous Community. These measures are necessary to restore order, deter future violence, and reinforce respect for the rule of law.

“We also call on the good people of Okporojo, Oso Edda, and surrounding communities not to resort to retaliation, as such actions will only escalate the crisis and worsen the situation.” APC urged all parties to remain calm and have full confidence in the APC led government under Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, which is committed to restoring lasting peace and ensuring that justice is served without bias or victimisation.

“The APC remains steadfast in its support for Governor Nwifuru’s leadership and reassured the people of Ebonyi State that peace, justice, and security will continue to remain top priorities of his administration,” the statement said.
