Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has expressed deep shock and sadness over the killing of innocent farmers by unidentified gunmen in Keana Local Government Area of the state.
The governor condemned the attack as a senseless and reprehensible act of violence and vowed that his administration would spare no effort in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
According to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, and made available to journalists in Lafia, Governor Sule gave the assurance during a condolence visit to the Osoko of Oshoho, Dr. Umar Abubakar Apeshi, over the death of his mother.
Governor Sule said he had directed security agencies to immediately investigate the incident and ensure that those responsible are apprehended and prosecuted.
“Our commitment to the protection of lives and property of all citizens, regardless of tribe or community, is unshakable,” the governor said.
“We remain resolute in our collaboration with all stakeholders and security agencies to ensure peaceful coexistence in Nasarawa State.”
He urged residents of the affected communities to remain calm and cooperate with security operatives by providing useful information that could lead to the arrest of the attackers.
While commiserating with the Osoko of Oshoho on the passing of his mother, Governor Sule prayed for the repose of her soul and asked d Allah to grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The governor reiterated his call on citizens to support security agencies with credible intelligence to prevent further attacks and enhance safety across the state. (arise News)
