By CHIMEZIE ANASO
Mr John Chuma Nwosu, governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Anambra, has warmly welcomed political leaders who recently joined the party with their supporters.
Speaking on Friday, Nwosu, also a former APC leader in Anambra, described their decision as bold, patriotic, and reflective of a shared commitment to building a democratic, inclusive, and progressive Nigeria.
Recall that Mr Peter Obi, Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, officially left his former party on Tuesday and declared membership of the ADC In Enugu alongside several lawmakers.
Nwosu said the individual and collective decisions of the new members demonstrated courage, experience, and a dedication to advancing the ideals of integrity, justice, and development-driven politics in Nigeria.
He added that the new members brought a wealth of political and legislative experience, leadership capacity, and deep connections with the people, which would strengthen the party”s structure and influence in Anambra.
“Their arrival will significantly boost ADC as a credible alternative, anchored on integrity, justice, and a people-oriented agenda for good governance,” Nwosu said.
He extended a special welcome to Mr Peter Obi, Sen. Victor Umeh, Sen. Tony Nwoye, as well as federal and state legislators who recently aligned with the ADC, emphasising unity and collaboration.
“ADC is committed to people-oriented governance and national renewal.
“Together, we shall deepen internal democracy, promote good governance, and restore hope to our people,” Nwosu said.
The governorship candidate reaffirmed that the ADC remained a home for transformative leaders committed to Nigeria’s progress, opportunity, unity, and shared prosperity.
“Once again, welcome to the African Democratic Congress. Together, we move Nigeria forward,” he added.
