Key moments from the event
Enough is Enough (EiE) Nigeria marked its 15th anniversary in Lagos on December 10, aligning the milestone with Human Rights Day and bringing together some of the nation’s most influential voices, including His Highness Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi, the Emir of Kano; Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto; Omobola Johnson; Fola Adeola; and Jude “MI” Abaga. The evening reflected on EiE’s journey and impact, featuring the launch of the updated edition of Footprints: Past, Present, Future, the premiere of a powerful short film on active citizenship, One Voice, Many Echoes, and the formal introduction of Ufuoma Nnamdi-Udeh as the organisation’s incoming Executive Director. She is set to assume leadership in January 2026.
The anniversary event, themed “Footprints and Frontlines,” was an ode to EiE Nigeria’s 15-year journey of impact, resilience, and citizen-centred advocacy. The outgoing Executive Director, Opeyemi Adamolekun, reflected on EiE’s journey over her 14-year tenure, during which the organisation grew into one of Nigeria’s most influential civic movements, committed to citizen participation, technology-driven advocacy, and strengthening democratic accountability.
The new edition of Footprints reflects the evolution of civic engagement in Nigeria and includes new chapters on local governance and the #EndSARS movement. One Voice, Many Echoes captured three eras of "Enough is Enough": Concerned Professionals in 1993 responding to the annulled election, the #EnoughIsEnough marches of 2010, and the #EndSARS movement in 2020.
EiE’s commitment to good governance was recognised by the presence of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, who was represented by the Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso. A former Lagos State Deputy Governor, now SSA to the President on SDGs, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, was also represented by Mr. Adegoke Adedamola, an Assistant Director in the SDG Office.
Guests at the event commended EiE’s consistency. They described the leadership transition to a Gen Z executive as a strong step towards the organisation’s next phase of impact driven by Nigeria's largest voting demographic.
